Silver Star Mountain's main attraction is alpine skiing and snowboarding, as well as nordic (cross country) skiing. Alpine skiing takes place within the Controlled Recreation Area (CRA) which used to be part of Silver Star Provincial Park, while nordic (cross country) skiing opportunities abound both within the CRA as well as within Silver Star Provincial Park.

Other winter activities include snowshoeing, skating, tobogganing, tubing, and snowmobiling.
