Sewage Treament Plant

The sewage generated at Silver Star Mountain Resort is processed by a private company, Silverhawk Utilties Inc, a subsidiary of Waterworks Technologies. The plant screens and filters the incoming watewater, and processes it in a series of aerated lagoons and an exfiltration pond.

In essence, the sewage lagoons are the headwaters of both Vance Creek and Coldstream Creek. Both of these creeks are in community watersheds which supply drinking water to Vernon and rural Lumby.
